What My Bridal Party Wore

A Spring Garden Romance: My Bridal Party Style

As I sit here reminiscing about our wedding day, I can’t help but feel so much pride about all the work that went into it. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments, all set against the gorgeous backdrop of La Venture Grove—an enchanting old Florida-style orange grove nestled along the river.

From the moment we began planning our wedding for May, I knew I wanted to embrace the beauty of spring and create a romantic, flower-forward garden theme. Little did I know that bringing this vision to life would be such a labor of love!

I made the decision to have my bridesmaids wear mismatched floral maxi dresses in shades of peach, blush, and cream—a trend that has been gaining popularity and one that I absolutely adore for its inclusivity and versatility.

However, as any bride can attest, executing the mismatched dress look isn't always as effortless as it seems. While I loved the idea of allowing my bridesmaids to choose dresses that suited their individual styles and preferences, I quickly discovered that ensuring everything flowed seamlessly together was no small feat.

I spent countless hours scouring the internet, meticulously compiling a multi-page PDF of dress options in hopes of guiding my bridesmaids through the selection process. Yet, despite my best efforts, I found myself feeling overwhelmed and frustrated as each dress we considered failed to capture the cohesive look I envisioned.

It was during one of these moments of doubt that my brilliant friend Maddie came to the rescue! Our issue was that we were still thinking too broadly…with only 4 bridesmaids, we needed to be even more specific with the dress guidelines. She suggested dresses with a white or cream base adorned with subtle peach and blush flower prints—a suggestion that resonated with me instantly.

We set out on a new quest to find the perfect dresses, and this time, everything fell into place effortlessly. Each dress we selected brought its own unique charm to the ensemble, yet together, they looked harmonious.

We never all had the dresses together in person until the wedding day! It was a risk and not going to lie…I was super nervous for how it was going to turn out. But as I stood surrounded by my bridesmaids on that beautiful spring afternoon, I couldn't help but marvel at how wonderfully everything had come together. My bridesmaids were radiant and my heart was so full.
